Happy New Year 2016 – our detox recipe
Happy New Year to all !
We wish you a wonderful new Year, full of love and abundance. In Chinese astrology, 2016 is the year of the Monkey. It symbolises the spirituality, the unexpected and a lot of fun. Lots of success is in the air for non conventional and creative minds who dare to jump out of the box and find balance. The year of the monkey should inspire us to handle stressful situations with grace and humour.
Who says new year says also new resolutions ! On our side, we feel like detoxifying our body. (After the end of the year dinners, we have some work to do 😉 ). The practice of the Ashtanga Yoga helps in the detoxification of the body, but here are some of the detox recipe we like to use, specially at this time of the year.
Hot Water in an empty stomach
Every day of the year, we like to drink hot water in an empty stomach. To have hot water first thing in the morning allows the body to eliminate the toxins, to activate the digestive system, to stimulate the intestines and to prevent against constipation. To drink hot water in the morning is very beneficial for increasing the tightening of the intestines, which optimizes elimination. It allows the body to burn more calories throughout the rate. It can also help the gastrointestinal tract and kidneys to function even better. In addition to this, Chinese medicine insist on the fact the water should be at the same temperature as the body in order to hydrate it rapidly.
Lemon juice during 1 month in the morning
Having had or cup of hot water, we also drink a glass of warm water mixed with a pressed lemon juice. Due to the high countenance of Vitamin C of the lemon, it boosts the body and allows it to burn some extra calories. Furthermore, the lemon has detox virtues. It cleans the digestive system and the liver. Its diuretic properties stimulate the renal activity and the digestion. It also balances the PH levels, clears skin, energizes the body and freshens the breath ! 🙂
Precaution: The lemon juice is not advised to be taken under medicines (the lemon could interfere with the medicinal effects), for pregnant women or breast-feeding women and the people having a high rate of acidity in the body.
